R&B Singer J. Holiday, who has not really been in the mainstream of the genre since about 2009 with his hit single "Bed," has recently shared a video on his Instagram account about the current state of the Grammy Awards. In his statement, he took aim at the careers of women of color including Cardi B, SZA, and Beyonce.

In this video, Holiday expressed his issue with the lack of Black male representations within the nominations of the 2018 Grammys. He may be specifically speaking on the lack of Black men nominated for R&B records, as JAY-Z and Kendrick Lamar are nominated heavily this year and have used their personal plights within the works that are being acknowledged. Whereas, Holiday is calling for female artists to using their pain as inspiration to make music.

He captioned the video, "#asablackmutherf***ngman Yes salty I lost to MJB I’m over it! #painwins not talent! #dontsupportjunkiemusic #theweekendchick #watermelonswallowing #forgeignp***y what are U doing to help? Bc my daughters love ya’ll but are not allowed to listen. That’s a problem."

The singer/songwriter carries his point further in the video saying,“I got daughters, man. Beyonce, Cardi B, SZA — all y’all motherf***ers — stop using that f***ing pain to make it okay to say some bulls*** on your record and get nominated for a Grammy for going through some bulls***. Because so have I as a black motherf***ing man."
