A surveillance recording posted on the Facebook page of the police department in Midfield, Alabama shows the robbery of a local Subway franchise that happened at around 8:30 p.m. on Monday, January 15.

The video, which has been viewed over 40,000 times, shows the moment a couple of masked men in their 20's barge into the establishment with guns drawn. The employee on staff appeared to be putting the food and condiments away when midway through the nearly 3-minute long snippet a man in a white and grey hooded sweatsuit charges in and jumps the counter with a handgun pointing at the worker.

As the lead man muscles the employee back to the register, a second man briefly circles the space, peering out of the windows, and then returns to the counter to rest his AK-47 and remove the backpack from his shoulders. He then tosses the bag to his partner, who had just pistol-whipped the worker.

It appears in the video that after he pulls the tray of money out of the register and hands it to the man on the other side of the counter, the robber posted up by his side begins to demand that he open a safe. After it becomes clear that he doesn't know how to unlock it, the suspect gives up and hops back over the counter to flee with his partner. The suspects reportedly made away with $1,380 and remain at large.
