A Texas grand jury has found that there isn't enough evidence to prosecute two-time NFL Pro Bowl star, Emmanuel Sanders, for in a case involving an alleged sex crime. Sanders had been facing accusations on par with a felony sexual assault charge for an incident that happened in Harris County, where he went to high school and still owns a home.

Not much details about the actual crime that Sanders was being investigated for have been reported in the media, but the fact that it was classified as a felony 2 is indicative of the serious nature of the charges. Despite the claims, however, it was determined on January 9 that the grand jury "failed to find a bill of indictment."

Sanders still stands to face discipline from the NFL should the league conduct its own investigation and find a reason to suspend the Broncos wide receiver over the allegations. Such was the case this past season, when commissioner Goodell's office penalized Ezekiel Elliott for a six-game period, despite the fact that he never faced criminal charges for an alleged domestic violence incident.

The Broncos followed up news of the grand jury's decision with a statement that read, in part: “We are aware of the media report involving Emmanuel Sanders and are looking into it.”
