Athletes and entertainers are often in the media for their baby-mama dramas. Dwight Howard, a father of five children, all birthed by different women, is no stranger to this. The Charlotte Hornets star is reportedly at the center of a custody battle with one of his children’s mothers, Melissa Rios.

The 32-year old NBA center fathered a son, David, with Melissa four years ago. Melissa alleges that Howard only sees the boy 40 days a year, stating he “travels extensively for business and has visited with David when it is convenient,” and “David has resided with me exclusively since his birth and I have made all of the day-to-day decisions regarding his health and education and welfare.” On this basis, she is filing legal documents, hoping to obtain full custody of her son, and subsequently requesting more child support funds.

On the flip side, sources state that Rios’ claims are untrue, and Howard spends the entire offseason with his son, including having spent two months with him over the past summer.

Dwight Howard is currently making $23 million a year with the Hornets. No comments have been made by his other children's' mothers at this time.
