Things got heated in Chris Paul's return to Staples Center in Los Angeles as a member of the Houston Rockets. He and Blake Griffin got into a bit of a yelling match before Trevor Ariza and the Clippers bench exchanged words. According to multiple reports, some of the Rockets players including James Harden, Chris Paul, Trevor Ariza, and Gerald Green decided to confront the Clippers' Blake Griffin and Austin Rivers. Despite there being "a lot of barking" the Rockets were escorted away from Los Angeles' locker room before anything could get physical.

The main target for the Rockets anger seemed to be Griffin who had his nose in every skirmish during the Clippers' 113-102 win over Houston. The former Oklahoma Sooner tried to deflect blame off of his team for sparking the confrontation telling reporters, "We were where we were supposed to be after the game... You have to ask them."

In addition to Griffin jawing with players on the floor, Patrick Beverly and Austin Rivers were seen going at Ariza and others throughout the game from the sideline. Beverly took to Twitter after the game and posted, " It’s a different culture in LA. No more soft s--t here!!!!!"
