Actor Aziz Ansari is the latest name put on the list of Hollywood men facing sexual assault allegations.
Babe magazine published an article submitted to them by a New York photographer detailing an uncomfortable night she had with the Golden Globe winner. "Grace," who requested to stay anonymous, met Ansari at an Emmy Awards afterparty last year. Grace eventually accepted an invitation to go on a dinner date with Aziz after a nice night of "flirting" and talking about cameras.
According to her, dinner was going well enough for the couple to take things back to the actor's apartment with intentions to "just chill."
Babe reported, things quickly went awry after a simple compliment of Ansari's marble countertops. An innocent night allegedly abruptly changed into intimidation and unwanted physical contact on Grace's end.
An excerpt from the article said "Within moments, he was kissing her. 'In a second, his hand was on my breast.' Then he was undressing her; then he undressed himself." The article noted the woman "remembers feeling uncomfortable at how quickly things escalated." According to the article, when Ansari told her he was going to grab a condom within minutes of their first kiss, Grace voiced her hesitation explicitly. She said "I said something like, ‘Whoa, let’s relax for a sec, let’s chill.’" She said Ansari then continued kissing her.
The article went on to explain that Grace felt "really pressured" throughout the night after several more advances before she finally left in an Uber. Though the event shook her emotionally, she voiced her feelings to Ansari after he texted her about having "fun" the previous night.
Aziz reportedly apologized to her via text message for "misreading things," but has yet to publicly responded to the allegations.
