In a touching story from last week that's just now getting picked up, Kanye West reportedly phoned a young female fan with terminal cancer.

On January 2, Twitter user @StalkDebbie related a story about the Chicago rap icon reaching out to a girl from her hometown.

"This girl in my town had cancer and Kanye called her a couple days ago to rap for her. I think Kim was there too. Wasn’t even blasted on social media or anything. She passed yesterday. I have so much respect for him tho. Making her happy in her last moments."

On Monday, Kim Kardashian gave credence to the story when she responded on Twitter, writing, "We are praying for her family."

Several hours later, TMZ all but confirmed the veracity of the story.

We're told Kanye recently became aware of a young fan who was battling cancer. The fan's family tried hard to get in touch with him because the pre-teen was a huge fan, and last week -- when word reached Kanye, he jumped at the chance to connect, reported the gossip site.

Also shared was a photo presumably sent in by the family of the young woman showing her holding a phone with Kanye on FaceTime.

The young fan reportedly asked 'Ye to rap her favorite song, "I Love Kanye," which he gladly did.
