A woman who was shot while streaming herself on Facebook Live was treated in a Chicago hospital, and the suspect in the case was reportedly identified by Chicago police within hours of the recording going viral on Tuesday, January 2.

In the nearly two minute long snippet of the incident that has been going around, the 27-year-old victim is seen leaving her Parkway Gardens apartment complex with a smile on her face before she is confronted by two individuals waiting in a vehicle parked outside.

"Oh, who you just calling a b***h F**k you talking about?" she says as she approaches the car in a jovial manner. But the situation then takes a serious turn as the woman in the driver's seat begins to ask "Who's gonna smack me?" and the victim informs her viewers that the suspect has brandished a gun.

"What you gonna do with it b***h? I'm not worried about that gun b***h. You will get blown down right here," viewers watched the woman recording the video proceed to say as the confrontation escalated. After some back and forth she then appeared to pound on the car with her free hand, prompting the suspect to fire a single shot.

Several seconds of silence followed as the victim retreated towards a group of acquaintances who began to panic when she informed them that she had been hit.

“What I can say is we believe this to be a domestic-related incident between two individuals that know each other,” Chicago police spokesperson Anthony Guglielmi has told the press about the incident. “We do not believe there is any threat to the public as this stemmed from an earlier interaction between the two of them.”

The victim was taken to Stronger Hospital, where her condition was stabilized. The suspect remains on the loose.
