During his reign as President Barack Obama was a pop culture darling and would end each year sharing his favorite moments. Though he's out of the Oval Office, the former POTUS continued his tradition in 2017 by sharing his favorite books and music of this past year.

"During my presidency, I started a tradition of sharing my reading lists and playlists. It was a nice way to reflect on the works that resonated with me and lift up authors and artists from around the world," he wrote on social media. "With some extra time on my hands this year to catch up, I wanted to share the books and music that I enjoyed most."

Obama took to Facebook on Sunday (December 31) and shared a list of what moved him musically this year and what books have captivated him the most.

Of course as the president who routinely invited Hip Hop to the White House he listed songs by Kendrick Lamar ("Humble"), JAY-Z ("Family Feud"), Chance the Rapper ft. Daniel Ceaser ("First World Problems") and SZA ("Broken Clocks") as some of his favorites from 2017.
