CNN host Brooke Baldwin invited a couple of the political commentators she regularly has on her show to share their reactions to Omarosa Manigault being fired from her position in President Trump's cabinet on Wednesday (December 13). All but one of the commentators could hold it together long enough to spare the former Apprentice cast member of any humiliation.
Viewers of the afternoon segment watched as Democratic strategist Symone Sanders, White House press correspondent April Ryan, and political analyst Angela Rye delivered their analysis of the ordeal on a split screen. In the hours leading up to the convening of the four pundits, news outlets scrambled to put out headlines that captured the story in its full essence. Many of those articles revolved around Ryan's report that she had learned from sources close to the situation about Omarosa actually being fired, and not resigning from the Public Liaison's office position, as original reports had suggested.
Ryan would later state that while she wasn't a supporter of Omarosa's, she doesn't "delight in anyone's demise." The statement came in response to Rye excusing herself for bringing the conversation to a petty place, but asserting that she felt the need to emote her true feelings on the firing.
"Whoo! Bye girl. Bye. We did it already on the podcast April, but bye honey," Rye said, after laughing out loud. "You have never ever represented the community. You are skin-folk. We don't own you, like Zora. goodbye, good riddance, goodbye! Deuces! Out!"”
