Nipsey Hussle made news recently announcing the partnership deal he and his All Money In label struck with Atlantic Records for the release of his debut album, Victory Lap, the Slauson Boy followed up with revealing the cover art for the album. As of midnight, Victory Lap was made available for pre-order along with the album's lead single "Rap N*ggas." According to "Nayborhood Nip," the album has been complete since April but legal complications halted its release.

In an interview with The Fader, Nip said of the album:

With this album, I wanted to create a music moment. We have like business moments with Crenshaw and marketing moments and like real authentic moments with my early stuff where it was like a real energy that you felt, [...] But, I want to create a music moment and make a victory lap. I wanted to be in business with music specialists to really make sure that hypothetically, before we started it, that when we pulled it off we'll be in business with or we'll be in a situation that could maximize the value of each record and the value of the album.

Victory Lap will officially drop February 16, 2018.
