National Security Adviser H.R. McMaster had some less-than-flattering things to say about his boss, President Trump, during a private dinner with a tech CEO over the summer--this according to five sources who spoke with Buzzfeed News on condition of anonymity.

During the July dinner with Oracle CEO Safra Catz, McMaster allegedly referred to Trump as an "idiot" and a "dope" with the intelligence of a "kindergartner," according to four of the sources, who claim to have heard about the conversation directly from Catz.

A sixth source told Buzzfeed that McMaster, who is a three-star general in the Army, made similar disparaging comments about the President to him in private, including saying that Trump lacked the intelligence to understand the matters before the National Security Council.

The Trump administration denied that McMaster ever made the comments.

“Actual participants in the dinner deny that General McMaster made any of the comments attributed to him by anonymous sources. Those false comments represent the diametric opposite of General McMaster's actual views,” said Michael Anton, a spokesman for the National Security Council.

The top Oracle executive in Washington, who attended the dinner with Catz, also issued a denial.

The dinner discussion was about China, and “none of the statements attributed to General McMaster were said," according to Ken Glueck, Oracle senior VP for government affairs.
