LiAngelo Ball and UCLA teammates Jalen Hill and Cody Riley are finally back in the United States after dodging a legal bullet in China for allegedly shoplifting sunglasses last week.

The trio of young men were seen walking through LAX while being mobbed by reporters and photographers. Maintaining calm demeanors, LiAngelo and his teammates made their way through the terminal and into a van waiting outside.

While Chinese officials reportedly dropped the shoplifting charges on Tuesday, UCLA says the university will be launching its own investigation into the alleged theft.

Ball, Hill, and Riley were at one point potentially facing up to 10 years in jail if found guilty in a Chinese court for shoplifting.

It was reported last week that the men were accused of stealing from a Louis Vuitton store next to the hotel they were staying at in Shanghai.

A large number of officers responded to the Hyatt Hangzhou to question players from both UCLA and Georgia Tech who were set to play their season opener in China. The players were reportedly confined to a room for hours, prohibited from seeing their coaches.

The Washington Post reported on Monday that President Trump personally asked that Chinese President Xi Jinping drop the charges against the players and allow them to return home.
