CNN host Don Lemon abruptly cut into an interview he was conducting on his show on Friday night (November 10) to tell his guest to "put some respeck on his name."

Attorney Trenton Garmon has been making rounds in the media to defend Alabama senatorial candidate Roy Moore against sexual assault accusations that have reared up just as he contends for Attorney General Jeff Sessions' former seat. Garmon represents himself as a member of the Foundation for Moral Law, which is an advocacy group headed by Moore's wife. During his appearance on CNN, the Montgomery based lawyer tried to get just as chummy with Lemon as he is with the Moore family, but his attempts backfired.

Before Lemon got to ask a single question about claims made by four women who all say they were teenagers (one 14-years-old) when Moore made sexual contact with them, he laid out that he would be referring to Lemon as “Don easy Lemon squeezy take it easy.” Lemon didn't react to Garmon putting the nickname out there at first, but when he came around with it again, it didn't sit well with the veteran host. “It’s just Lemon. My mom didn’t name me Don Lemon keep it easy squeezy. It’s just Don Lemon,” Lemon shot back.

Garmon went on to give the joke a rest, after apologizing if Lemon was offended. Lemon responded to his apology by asserting that he was not offended, but did find the quip to be disrespectful.
