E-40 was one of hip hop's first urban dictionaries, the Bay Area legend has been known for his outlandish sayings and slang over the years. He's taking ownership of that legacy. When new school rappers were arguing over who appropriated the word "broccoli" to mean marijuana, 40 Water kindly dropped the receipts for him using the slang way before any of them dreamed of being rappers. This time around he's clapping back and suing someone for their use of the term "Captain Save a Hoe."

E-40 filed a lawsuit against author Erika Kane and the publishers of a book she recently released entitled "Captain Save a Hoe." The term is the title of 40 Water's 1993 hit song and he's claiming ownership over it.

According to TMZ, documents state that 40 owns the rights to the term and that he believes that Kane is profiting off of his song and the character he created by using it word for word on her book. He ultimately believes it's an unfair ripoff.

E-40 is requesting that a judge remove the book from shelves and that he be given a part of any money the author has earned from book sales so far. The author nor her publisher have commented on the suit.
