Shaquille O’Neal has never been shy about his lyrical abilities.
The NBA Hall of Famer has been spitting since the early nineties. While he may have competition from the current generation of professional basketball players/rappers for all-time best lyricist of the league, Shaq has the numbers to prove he reigns supreme. Under his belt, Shaq has a platinum and gold album. However, recently Shaq showed off his bars with a beat from legendary hip-hop producer Scott Storch.
“Ayo Scott does this beat sound familiar/ Shaq diesel with these bars I’m about to kill ya/ Big black and rich, Barbeque chicken we toasting s**t/ Yeah I can spit all night/Spit all day/ Spit for play/ Let me get this beat sell it to me/ Name your price I’m a Billionaire G,” he raps
While he has never given up rhyming, lately the famed big man has been dropping his bars to a new crop of listeners. Maybe it has something to do with British comedian Michael Dapaah a.k.a Big Shaq staking his claim in hip-hop.
Recently, O’Neal dropped a diss track to the towards the “Mans Not Hot” rapper. “Don’t you ever disrespect our name. All I really got is my name. Diesel spit that propane. Roadman Shaq, you should be ashamed.”
