Cam'ron gave both ladies and the fellas a heads up about the "curve" on the sixth track of his 2009 album Crime Pays. But aside from sharing a brief explanation of it during the song's intro, and using the phrase on the hook, he didn't speak or rhyme in depth about the concept then. Not until recently did the Harlem rapper lay down enough game about the curve to help fans get over rejection as something that is likely temporary if you should respect it.

“This is a PSA about respecting the curve. If somebody hits you with ‘K, I’ll get back to you, I don’t know, lol, you crazy,’ it is all the curve and your job is to respect it. Some people try to keep going on after you give them these answers and they don’t respect the curve. Now you’re stepping in the dangerous territory of our friendship. If you wanna be friends with somebody and you’re being curved, sometimes the curve is not permanent," Cam said in a video clip posted to social media.

"Just accept it for that particular moment. A permanent curve is when you don’t get even a ‘K’ back. And ‘K’ is for females, guys have to say ‘OK.’ Somebody who respects the curve is this man. They know they’ve been curved and they’re figuring out their situation. Alright? Take advice, respect the curve,” he said.
