While Lecrae has experienced a bevy of success for being a Christian rapper, the Texas rapper speaks about all that has come with his rise to fame. He speaks on the pressure of living up to the standards of the Gospel genre after his 1st album Rebel hit the chart; how he was pigeonholed into the industry with people asking why he would feature other rappers such as Big K.R.I.T over a traditional gospel artist. The Grammy award-winner also speaks about being green to the industry and not understanding genres or categorization of music. "I love God, and I rap. I don't know about your charts and what's gospel or what's Christian - whatever. They put your music where they want to. I saw myself as a product of hip-hop who met God and wanted to rap, rap about it."
Lecrae goes on about being on the red carpet with Baron Davis when he was alerted that his category was being announced at the Grammys. While he appreciates the win, says he was more interested in meeting Nas and 2 Chainz when he found out he won.
