Denzel Washington is shooting the sequel to ‘The Equalizer,’ and already things are heating up.

Two people were charged this weekend for a shooting that took place on the set of the movie, which is being filmed in Roxbury (Boston). Two guards, a 40-year-old woman, and a 33-year-old man, were shot but suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were released from the hospital.

The two shooters? Two 18-year-olds, Dionte Martinez and Thomas Perkins, which both have been arrested and have been charged with assault with intent to murder and gun offenses. Suffolk County district attorney’s office has stated that Martinez & Perkins were due to be arraigned this past Friday in Roxbury Municipal Court. It hasn’t been reported whether Martinez or Perkins have attorneys.

No filming was taking place during the shoot and the cast—including Denzel Washington, Melissa Leo, and Pedro Pascal— were not on set when it happened.

Columbia Pictures nor Sony Pictures, which are producing and distributing the sequel, have not released a statement on the incident. Denzel Washington or the rest of the cast have not released a statement either.

‘The Equalizer 2’ is set for release on August 3, 2018. Minus the shooting, let’s hope the rest of the filming goes smoothly so we get this film on time.
