Former NHL goalie, Ray Emery, has been arrested for allegedly assaulting his then-fiancee, Keisha Chante. Many know Keisha from her time as a BET host but she is also a singer.
Back on September 18th, Ray was arrested in Hamilton, Ontario for assault with a deadly weapon and threatening Keisha. The singer initially went to the police seeking a restraining order against Ray but after telling the police officers that he abused her several times from July 2016 to September 2016 along with the "hard proof," he was arrested. Ray was released on bail and is due back in court later on this month.
Keisha and Ray were dating for seven years before she called off their engagement and publicly announced the wedding was off.
Ray, who is 35 years old, played in the NHL for 11 seasons. During his career, he played with the Ottawa Senators, Philadelphia Flyers, Anaheim Ducks and Chicago Blackhawks. Ray won a Stanley Cup with the Chicago Blackhawks in 2013. Ray last played in the 2014-2015 season with the flyers.
His regular-season career record is 145-86-28 along with a 2.70 goals-against average and .906 save percentage. Quite a career but hopefully he isn't remembered for his "other" activities.
