A Chicago blogger that specializes in reporting on the local gangs was shot five times this week and took down all of his social media accounts.
The writer, who goes by the name Chicago World News, was shot five times in the South Side region of the city. There were rumblings online from Twitter users on people taking credit for the shooting, but so far, no arrests have been made.
Chicago World News was recently threatened by La Raza Gang members and responded to them on YouTube. He created a video letting the gang members know that they went to the wrong place and that he lived pretty far from where they were. He also pretty much laughed off the threat and said that he thought they were pranking him. His final video before the shooting was posted at the beginning of the month.
