French Montana related a pretty funny story during a recent sit-down with Hot 97's Funkmaster Flex.
During the interview Wednesday, French revealed that Akon once gifted him a fake Rolex for his birthday.
"Shout out to Akon," said the Bronx rapper, who seemed reluctant to tell the story. "He gave me a fake watch for my birthday."
"I love him, that's my brother...I'm still waiting for my other watch, Akon," French joked. "You gotta speak about it, you can't do funny stuff like that."
Flex went on to explain that he first learned of the story after someone else brought it up, and they had to "drag it out" of French.
"We gotta clear this up, because I'm gonna tell you something--this story's getting ready to spiral bro," responded Flex with a big grin.
"Nah it was my birthday too," continued French. "He put a fake watch on my wrist, I was heated," he joked. "My jeweler was like, 'who gave you this?'... Akon for my birthday, I'm hyped. He was like, 'Akon didn't give you this, I know him.'"
"In his defense, he may not have known," said Funk Flex.
