The National Anthem protest sparked by Colin Kaepernick has found others joining in, from other athletes in the league to fans as well. Recently, two African-American Detroit Lions fans were spotted sitting down, and the moment was captured by a man who posted the photo online with the racist caption “Ignorant n****rs.” The Facebook caption over the photo says “You wanna sit down for the national anthem? You don’t like our country then get the f*** outtt.” The photo went viral and sparked much backlash, causing the business owner who originally posted to go into hiding because of his statement. Since then, the woman who was captured in the photo has responded. The woman, whose name is Stacey Graham told ABC 7 news “I know I was definitely stunned to see something like that written under my photo.”

Graham also spoke to FOX 2 News, saying “Everybody has an opinion. He probably could’ve stuck with ‘he wishes we would’ve stood’ and I would’ve been like ‘ok,’ but to write that under our picture... no words.” She also said “We gotta build our country back together, we gotta come together. Whatever that may mean. But that’s going in the opposite direction. The racial slur, that’s going backward.” The man who posted the photo with the racist caption has since then deleted his Facebook account.
