GOP surrogate Maurice Symonette hasn't been able to catch a break since drawing the attention of eyes on this week's Phoenix rally with the 'Blacks for Trump 2020' sign he has been sighted holding in the past. Within hours of the rally coming to its completion, countless news outlets had exposed the former Nation of Yahweh member as an off-the-ledge conspiracy theorist, and the jokes began coming in about everything from his greasy skin to his resemblance to Ray Lewis. During SNL's latest weekend updates segment, Symonette will be recalled for fans of the sketch comedy show, as comedian Michael Che just wants to put it out there that it is still unclear who is vouching for this man.

"I still wanna know who is this? I feel like I have to say on behalf of black people everywhere: We don’t know this fool," he said. Che then went on to call that the way he sees it, it was Trump who got fooled in allowing someone with Symonette's history to be given such visibility. The quip was perhaps a reference to all of the dirt that's been making news about him in the days since.

Among those who've shared their thoughts about seeing Symonette and weighing his track record, was Akon, who said he believes Symonette is getting paid to push the 'Blacks for Trump 2020' message.
