A white supremacist named Christopher Cantwell who made an appearance on Vice News is wanted for crimes that were committed while he was on the University of Virginia only one day before a rally turned deadly. Now according to AP, Cantwell will surrender himself to the police.
Since then, a video of the man crying hysterically has surfaced, with him complaining about his discovery of the warrant for his arrest. The man noted that he was trying for a couple of days to pinpoint if he warrants for his arrest like he kept hearing. The police ended up issuing a statement in reference to Cantwell, which led him to reveal that he will be turning himself in. In the Vice News piece that highlighted Cantwell, he can be seen laying out a large number of firearms on a bed, saying what the purpose of each firearm was for in terms of his cause.
The New Hampshire man is wanted for a string of charges, including one count of malicious bodily injury with an explosive or fire, and two counts of illegal use of tear gas. Cantwell told AP that he pepper-sprayed one counter-protestor “because my only other option was knocking out his teeth.” Cantwell told AP that he would turn himself over in the next 24 hours and that he would do it in the “most appropriate and safe manner possible.”
