XXL released the second installment of its 2017 Freshman Cyphers on Wednesday, July 12. The cypher drop followed the premiere of the series that came out featuring Kyle, A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, and Amine one day earlier. Included in the second round of three were class members Playboi Carti, Madeintyo, Ugly God, and XXXTentacion.
Stylistically, all of the cypher's participants but XXXTentacion spit trap style verses. X would close out the function with the music being cut off for an a capella that he shelled out in the dark lyrical fashion that has thus far set him apart from the rest of the Freshman Class. "And if the world ever has an apocalypse I will kill all of you f**kers," he opened up his verse, thereby squashing the vibe those who preceded him were bouncing to.
The next and final cypher will showcase Kap G, PnB Rock and Kamaiyah.
