After swirling rumors, it is being confirmed by ESPN's Marc Stein and Ramona Shelburne, that the Indiana Pacers and Los Angeles Lakers have engaged in Paul George trade talks.

George, who grew up in California and played college basketball at Fresno State, has expressed interest in returning to the West Coast.

All of this is happening as we inch closer to Thursday's NBA Draft, but as per sources, "it remains unclear whether the sides can agree to trade terms."

Since George is a free agent come July 2018 and has expressed interest in becoming a Laker upon hitting the open market, the Lakers feel as though there is no need to part with their No. 2 pick, or last season's No. 2 pick, Brandon Ingram.

The All-Star forward has already expressed zero interest in returning to the Pacers on a long term deal.

According to The Vertical, his agent, Aaron Mintz, has relayed this information to the Pacers' president of basketball operations, Kevin Pritchard, but did not request the team trade his client.

It is also being reported that George can sign a four-year deal worth as much as $130 million with the Lakers next season.

However, there are other teams that might be interested in trading for George, such as the Washington Wizards, Houston Rockets, Los Angeles Clippers and Cleveland Cavaliers.

According to ESPN.com, those teams have engaged in trade talks with the Pacers "since the weekend."
