While on his world tour, Donald Trump made a stop in Brussels for a meeting with the heads of Europe's Union leadership. While in the meeting, Trump commented on Germany and their trade overflow. Trump said to EU Commissioner Jean-Claude Juncker that "The Germans are bad, very bad." He also went on to say, "Look at the millions of cars they're selling in the US. Terrible. We will stop this."

What Donald Trump doesn't seem to realize is that he cannot negotiate any type of deal with Germany without going through the European Union. During his visit with German Chancellor Angela Merkel, Trump was told that trade agreements with the United States have not always been a popular idea in Germany as well. Basically, Germany's feelings on trading with the United States are mutual.

Previously this year, Trump said to a German newspaper that he wanted to place a 35% import tax on BMWs that were assembled in Mexico to "encourage" manufacturers to move their companies to the United States.
