LaVar Ball's tiff with Kristine Leahy on The Herd earlier this week has dominated its share of headlines in the days since. Coverage on the crude exchange has spanned across sports news outlets and extended its life through its reporting via hip-hop media, with Charlamagne Tha God giving Leahy Donkey Of The Day for what he believes was the FS1 host's own doing when she crossed boundaries to speak of Ball's fathering skills. On Friday, May 19, CTG was back with a Donkey Of The Day for Leahy's network peer Jason Whitlock, who defended Leahy during her appearance on Whitlock and Colin Cowherd's "Speak For Yourself" show.

"For Charlamagne Tha God to use his platform, the most powerful urban hip-hop station in America, with a huge following. To throw that kind of heat on you, when your intentions weren't malicious at all, this is ridiculous, and it plays into a racial politics that has gotten out of hand via social media," Whitlock said in defense of Leahy, as she sat by.

Charlamagne wouldn't allow the criticism to go unchecked. After shaking his head and contorting his face in objection to the comments, he fired back by asking why Whitlock never called Lahey out for demonizing Ball. He then implied it to be typical of Whitlock to have favored Lahey over Ball, bringing up his reputation on race matters. "You are doing what you have to do to keep your white counterparts happy because you think it gives you some sort of job security. I mean, look, it's documented that no Black people at ESPN wanted to work with you," Charlamagne said. He then shut the dispute down by declaring that he no longer intends to engage "a man who doesn't love himself."

A clip of Charlamagne delivering Friday's DOTD live from the studio has been making rounds, ensuring that the controversial LaVar Ball/ Kristine Lahey moment won't be going away anytime soon.
