Joe Budden and DJ Akademiks on today's episode of Complex's Everyday Struggle confronted the issue of how to classify Logic, whose all-inclusive lyrical content somewhat ironically makes him difficult for many hip hop heads to identify with. Joe Budden is one of those heads.
"The music is beautiful music," Budden says, "And Logic can rap really well." But after that qualifier, he says, "I have a hard time with understanding the plight of the half black, half white man. That's just for me. I don't identify with that struggle...I don't empathize with that struggle so when I hear this music, and songs like "Mos Definitely,"...cringe-worthy content...It's very cookie cutter."
