A lot of speculation around timing and circumstance has permeated the public since news broke about Janet Jackson's sudden decision to part ways from Wissam Al Mana this week. It isn't typical for lovers to leave one another right after they've bore a child, and only a year ago it appeared as though Jackson and Al Mana were well invested in their future together when the superstar entertainer announced that they had been planning a family.

At the basis of most of the talk is the net worth of Jackson [$175 million] and that of business magnate Al Mana [$1 billion], as it has been confirmed that the couple indeed signed a prenuptial agreement prior to exchanging vows in February of 2013. Given that prenups are normally set at 5 and 10-year intervals, and that their separation comes just after their marriage reached its 5-year mark, many have wondered whether the announcement's timing had anything to do with Janet being conscious of how much she could receive from a settlement.

Jackson and Al Mana welcomed a baby boy into the world in early January. Most of the buzz around Jackson throughout 2016 centered around her age, 50, and her decision to go through with a pregnancy. Sources are saying that the singer/actress plans on settling in London, where she is expected to keep custody of and raise their son Eissa.
