The tease for the Floyd Mayweather versus Conor McGregor fight keeps going with more people adding fuel to the fire. Conor McGregor is a UFC lightweight champion that has no type of previous professional boxing experience. However, according to his coach John Kavanagh that is not stopping him.

During an interview with FOX Sports in Australia, Kavanagh spoke on the potential of a fight between the two by saying, "In my mind, it's on. That’s the mentality we’re in. Like you said, there’s a lot of fingers in the pie on this one. There’s different promotions, different organizations, different commissions that are involved but as far as I’m concerned, I really believe it’s going to happen this year. That’s the mindset I have." Kavanagh does not seem to be worried about any type of logistics, as he also said, "let the people in the suits worry about the paperwork. We're training for it." The coach noted that they are "only doing boxing," and they would not focus on any other type of contact like jiu-jitsu or Thai Boxing. The weight that the two fighters would be training for would be around the 147-pound mark.

McGregor previously made comments about the fight and its potential outcome, saying, "Nobody in this boxing game knows what's coming. Twenty-eight years of age, confident as a motherf***er, long, rangy, dangerous with every hand. I'm going to stop Floyd and you're all going to eat your words." Despite the fact that no date for the fight has been set, Mayweather and his team have allegedly changed the focus of the boxer's training regimen to gear up for a bout against McGregor. According to FOX Sports, if the fight was to take place, it would happen in September 2017 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
