Celtics star Isaiah Thomas has attempted to clear his name of accusations that he taunted Atlanta Hawks guard Dennis Schroder's family, while en-route to a 103-101 victory over his Eastern Conference rival on Friday. Standing before reporters on Sunday, January 15, Thomas admitted to doing whatever he could to get into Schroder's head, but denied ever involving people or matters from his personal life.

"I don't talk about nobody's mom, I don't cuss at nobody's moms, and I don't talk about people's families," said Thomas. "So whatever Schroder said, that's a 100 percent lie and he knows that. I always say, 'Keep it hoop," he said.

It is not the first time that tempers have flared between Thomas and Schroder. Fans will recall them mouthing off at one another throughout last year's Hawks/Celtics playoff series. Prior to addressing Schroder in the press, he voiced confusion over his statement via Twitter, where he denied that he had said anything remotely close to the words Schroder claims Thomas directed towards his family.

Thomas' rebuttal stems from Schroder speaking out of frustration after Friday's game, saying, "If he think that he got to curse at my mom or say some dumb stuff about my family, that has nothing to do with basketball. That's his choice. I'e got too much class for that. Next one, we are going to get it."
