Meek Mill is taking credit for pitching the BET Philly cypher and took to social media to let it be known.

After receiving a bit of shade from Beanie Sigel, Meek defended himself by letting the elder statesmen know that he put on for his city at this year’s BET Hip-Hop Awards. “BY THE WAY….I’m the one who pitched a Philly cypher and getting Philly more involved with @bet alley ooping a n***a that’s throwing shade but still catching blessings,” Meek wrote.

Philly rappers were all over the place during the Hip-Hop Award Cyphers. There was a State Property cypher that featured Beanie Sigel and other members of the group like Peedi Crakk, Omillo Sparks and Neef Buck. Other Philly emcees like Yazz and Bre-Z appeared in the New Edition cypher as well as up and comer Kur who also rapped during the show. Despite Meek allegedly helping Sigel out, the former Roc-A-Fella enforcer still plans on dropping a diss record soon in retaliation for being sucker punched by one of the younger rapper’s affiliates. That track was previewed on his Instagram earlier this week.
