A carjacking suspect has drawn the attention of of thousands of viewers after video leaked of him taking outlandish measures to get a Miami judge to pay him mind. Thirty-year-old Calvin Griffith's microphone was cut off as he hollered to alert Judge Catherine M. Pooler that he had an important visitor while in court on Thursday, August 11. That's when he thought up a sure-fire way to catch her eye. He began twerking.
Griffin was arrested early Thursday for allegedly swiping the keys to a 2013 black Volkswagen Passat while in the attendance office of Miami Edison Senior High School in Miami-Dade. He was captured after surveillance video recorded him driving the vehicle out of the school parking lot. Griffith was charged with burglary, theft, third-degree grand theft auto and trespassing.
Griffith was attempting to tell Judge Pooler that his mother had arrived to drop off medication when he resorted to go into dance. Pooler was punished for the gesture, with the judge increasing his bond to $18,500.
