Before Ebro Darden of Hot 97 had issues with Lil Yachty, he made some less than flattering comments about Rae Sremmurd, saying they don't write their rhymes and even called them Kriss Kross. The duo did not take that accusation well, even garnering a response from their producer Mike Will Made It who said, "if Sremm didn't write they raps, who the f*ck did?" Since then, the duo has made their way back to Hot 97 for a promo run but managed to address their issues with Ebro to personality Peter Rosenberg. Swae Lee said "Everybody wanna fight Ebro. All our people, all of SremmLife wanna fight him."
The group also took the time to address the ghostwriting accusation, saying "That's like us saying 'Ebro In The Morning' happened in the evening, and he don't even write his jokes, and Ebro don't have control over how we talk to people. We say some stuff that might seem kiddie, but then when you think about it you're like 'Damn, lil' n*ggas is some poets.'"
