Schoolboy Q announced his sophomore album and previewed the artwork for it which uses the crying Michael Jordan meme in a creative way.
The album, titled Blank Face, features the infamous meme, but it blacks out Jordan’s face completely. It also features the title written in script in the middle of the left side, and Schoolboy Q’s name at the bottom next to he parental advisory sticker. The rapper has already released two singles off the album including “Groovy Tony” and “THat Part,” which features Kanye West. It will be the follow up to his 2014 Interscope debut Oxymoron, and will drop on July 8, according to the rapper’s Twitter account.
The album’s first single, "THat Part," didn’t receive the type of response his record label TDE expected. Label head, Anthony “Top Dawg” Tiffith, took to Twitter last month to scold fans for not supporting the record. “Ya’ll have 2 really support these records y’all keep asking for,” tweeted Tiffith. “Who bought Q single?..we have over 11m followers and his single sold 26k the 1st week. y’all beg 4 it..explain that support 2 me.. lmao. I’m [laughing] at y’all excuses… Now stop cursing me out about releasing music lol”
