A former member of Fetty Wap's Remy Boyz clique was arrested and charged with attempted murder in Patterson, NJ, Friday. An investigation into a February shooting to which a 7-year-old fell victim of a stray bullet, landed Justin 'P-Dice' Pope as "an alleged actor" in the incident, authorities said. In addition to the attempted murder charge, Pope faces charges for possession of a defaced firearm and weapons offenses.
Young Jaiden DeLeon made headlines when on February 29th he called 911 himself to report that he had been shot. Following commotion outside of the their Rosa Parks Boulevard home, his grandmother and great-grandmother were thrust into panic upon seeing blood on the boy's shoulder. "I'm shot. I'm shot," Jaiden told the operator. The bullet is said to have entered through a window. It was the third shooting of a child on the street in three consecutive years, as in July of 2014 12-year-old Genesis Rincon was shot and killed while riding a scooter, and in April of 2015 a budding basketball star, Armoni Sexton, lost his life in a shooting.
P-Dice, who appears in the "679" video, has had a turbulent history with Fetty and the Remy Boyz. He was kicked out of the group several times before an official fall-out aired itself via an ongoing dispute on social media. Allegations that members of the group confronted and pistol-whipped him were made by P-Dice in an interview with MusicTimes.com.
Authorities have reported no involvement of Fetty Wap or any other associates in the case.
