Tyler, the Creator and his good friend, rapper Vince Staples, chopped it up recently about art, culture and the impact it has on people's lives. "Three days after the 'Yonkers' video...Three!" Vince began to explain just how a few hours after the video was released there were five people walking down Pico Boulevard dressed as the OF rapper. Tyler laughed off the remark as he dived into the origins of the track, one most feel was his breakout record.
At one point Vince Staples mentions Tyler telling him the "Yonkers" instrumental was originally for Jadakiss, to which the former WolfGang frontman stated "Dude, n***as don't know that that beat was made as a joke. I was trying to make a s**tty New York beat, and we was just rapping like we was from New York like we were retarded...I made that beat in literally eight minutes."
