Former New York City Mayor Rudolph "Rudy" Giuliani joined the correspondents on Fox & Friends to discuss Beyonce's Super Bowl 50 performance, and not one of them were amused by the lack of "decent wholesome entertainment." "I couldn't really make out what Beyonce was saying, but in the end we find out that Beyonce dressed up in a tribute to the Black Panthers, going into a Malcolm X formation," Fox News host Brian Kilmeade explained. "And the song, the lyrics - which I couldn't make out a syllable - were basically telling cops to stop shooting Blacks." Anna Kooiman later chimed in and told Giuliani, "Beyonce got a police escort there and then she gives a salute to the Black Lives Matter movement."

After watching the performance with Beyonce, Coldplay and Bruno Mars, the businessman told the news hosts, "I actually don't even know why we have this" in the first place. "This is football, not Hollywood," Giuliani quipped. "And I thought it was really outrageous that she used it as a platform to attack police officers who are the people who protect her and protect us and keep us alive." Later he stated "what we should be doing -in the African-American communities and all communities - is build up respect for police officers."
