While Lamar Odom's health tragically declines after being discovered unconscious in a brothel days ago, his estranged wife, Khloe Kardashian, has reportedly been by his side throughout the entire ordeal. As most tie the infamous last name to constant publicity stunts, Odom's colleagues were not amused to hear him being called a "Kardashian reality star" in the news.

Rapper Bun B noticed Nancy Grace calling Odom that despite his remarkable career in the NBA, and got nearly 9,000 retweets as he expressed his frustrations. "Word? A Kardashian reality star? F*** his NBA career right Nancy Grace?," he wrote. "He has a godd*** name. Lamar Odom. Vultures."

SportsCenter's Scott Van Pelt caught wind of Bun B's tweet as well and decided to address the media's insensitive mislabel. "Now I can't quote Bun B directly but my feelings mirrored his," he stated, understandably vexed. "Kardashian reality star? No, no, no, no. Lamar Odom - unlike those for whom fame is oxygen, whose fame comes in the absence of accomplishment - his famed was earned. As sixth Man of the Year, as a multiple NBA Champion, as the result of his significant role with the Los Angeles Lakers' teams and being a beloved NBA teammate and peer."

"I understand not everyone watches sports," Scott continued, "but Kardashian reality star? His name is Lamar Odom - and we knew it, long before he got married on a TV show that we don't watch."
