A Maryland man high on drugs used his "superhuman strength" to outwit two policemen as they tried to detain him using multiple taser gun shocks, batons, and pepper spray for seven minutes.
The incident took place at a Riverdale McDonalds last Friday, September 4. According to witness and video uploader, Ricky Martinez, Marcus Anthony Moratelli appeared seemingly harmless before "becoming aggressive and an endangerment to the public's safety." Police arrived about 4-8 minutes later after he became more irate and began throwing chairs around the fast food establishment. The cops immediately ordered Moratelli to the ground, which is when Martinez began recording.
Moratelli was tased, pepper sprayed and beaten with a baton multiple times and still resisted arrest - Around the 3:30 mark authorities are finally able to get him on the ground, though remain unsuccessful in handcuffing him until a few moments later. He was then transported to a nearby hospital and treated for minor injuries. Moratelli reportedly has a history of drug-related charges.
Riverdale Park Police Department Chief David Morris says Moratelli was possibly under the influence of PCP at the time."They are oblivious to pain, hence the superhuman strength," he noted. "We are seeing a resurgence of this [PCP use] and with that resurgence a level of violence and resistance by the individuals that are using it."
