Charles Hamilton had an exclusive down with VladTV where he discussed crediting J.Dilla as an executive producer on his The Perfect Life album and the current state of Battle Rap.
The "Brooklyn Girl" rapper was first asked to elaborate about the uproar he caused for naming the late Detroit legend as the executive producer for his 2009 project, although the two never met. Hamilton reluctantly responded by saying that the actions he took were done with the intent to pay homage to Dilla rather than creating controversy and he has love for the motor city as a whole.
The Ohio born emcee's battle with Serius Jones was the topic of battle rap fans worldwide when it dropped six years ago. When asked if he would consider returning to battling, Charles revealed to Vlad that although he began his career as a battler and is still an avid follower of the culture, he has no desire to step back into the ring.
