Juvenile Court Magistrate Harold "Hal" Horne's sentenced Brown after the television personality was heard saying, "Excuse me, on what authority do you sit, by the way?... This tribunal on a General Sessions Court's authority is insufficient to establish you. Therefore, I challenge your authority to hear it. ... This is a circus, sir."

Judge Brown was initially sentenced to one day, and the number was then upped to two and finally five as Juvenile Court Chief Magistrate Dan Michael said "[Brown] all but had that courtroom in a riot."
