Everyone who's a true Hip Hop fan knows Brooklyn, NY, for its history of renowned gritty street rappers who really come from "that life."  Over the years, there have been a variety of talented rappers such as The Notorious B.I.G., Jay Z, Busta Rhymes, Big Daddy Kane, Maino, and others, who have all come from the mean Brooklyn streets and used their lyrical abilities to propel them to success.  Some of whom, also utilized their past history as a hardcore drug hustler as a focal point in their music.

Fast forward to November 12th, 2014, and you can see that the new school Brooklyn spitter, Troy Ave, strongly believes that he is the first Brooklyn rapper to ever use "heavy drug talk in his raps."  The Crown Heights rapper took to his Twitter and Instagram accounts where he crowned himself as the "1st ni**a outta Brooklyn NYC talkin HEAVY drug talk in his raps."

Troy's bold statement was met by heavy criticism from fans, and instead of backtracking on his statements like many other celebrities might do, Troy stuck to his guns and passionately defended his street loyalty that lies within his lyrical content.  Based off of what Troy said, it doesn't look like anyone will be able to convince him otherwise.

Check out what Troy had to say above.  Do you believe that he is the "1st ni**a outta Brooklyn NYC talkin HEAVY drug talk in his raps"?
