Sanaa Lathan brewed up controversy online after posting a photo of her wearing a swimsuit on Instagram with the caption, "Finally my yellow ass can get some sun! #yeslawd Hope your weekend is GREAT. #love #love #andmorelove."
Her followers thought that it was not a great look for Sanaa to be referring to herself as lightskinned or "yellow" like it's a bad thing. Online users went into an uproar over the comment, with one of her Instagram followers saying, "Some people don't like being black."
