A woman named Gail Simpson was arrested on September 23 for robbing a Wells Fargo bank in southwest Miami, and some are speculating that the 63-year-old woman is Big Pun's mother. The woman is already on probation for attempted robbery earlier this year, so her most recent arrest has her looking at serious time.
Website Necole Bitchie got a tip about Simpson's alias being Gail Tirado, which was confirmed by a few people site searches. Pun's family reportedly fell on hard times after the rapper died of a heart attack in 2000, and just last month the rapper's wife, Liza Rios, filed a $1 million lawsuit against Fat Joe.
Liza claims in the lawsuit that she stopped getting money from Pun's record sales in 2005, despite the fact they're still selling. The Bronx rapper's wife also claimed in a 2009 lawsuit that her family was forced to live in a homeless shelter after exhausting his estate trying to stop Fat Joe and others from allegedly profiting off of Pun's record sales.
The identity of the bank robber hasn't been confirmed as Pun's mother at this time. Check out the video in the above slide and let us know what you think of the situation.
