Rich Homie Quan stayed close to his father's bedside as the rapper's label released a statement on his father's condition after he was shot by an unknown assailant on Monday.

According to XXL, Think It's A Game Entertainment founder and CEO, G. "Fly" Henry, thanked fans for their well wishes during the healing process of Corey Lamar. He also added that the shooting was indeed an attempt to rob Lamar and his barbershop.

"Unfortunately RHQ's father Corey Lamar was shot due to an attempted robbery in his barbershop yesterday" the statement reads. "We don't know how the news traveled so fast. Was this gang/beef related? Not that we know of. Quan's Dad is doing better now and in the healing process. We're just asking all of his fans to support and honor the privacy of Rich Homie Quan and his family as they push through. We at TIG Records wish him well and a speedy recovery. It's really times like these that we stand even stronger by our code at T.I.G and that's to, Trust In God."

Lamar, who is also the rapper's manager was shot four times during the robbery.

He is currently in stable condition.
