Since her musical debut last year, Ariana Grande has won over fans from all genres, including hip hop.
In an interview with MTV News, A$AP Ferg says the singer will be next big thing. The rapper teamed up with the pint-sized singer for "Hands On Me," off her upcoming sophomore LP, My Everything.
"It's a dope song," he said about the collaboration. He also called Ariana the next Mariah Carey, a comparison she's heard too often.
"She's the next Mariah Carey. She's dope," Ferg said "And that's not an understatement, or an overstatement — I just see her as that next big voice that's gonna pop."
The singer's powerhouse vocals have been likened to Mariah's since the release of Ariana's debut album, Yours Truly in 2012. Some fans have accused the 20-year-old of stealing Mariah's sound, but the singer has insisted that the legend has been an inspiration for her.
Do you think the singer can become as big as Mariah Carey?
