As the Essence Festival kicked off this week, some of R&B biggest acts are sharing their experiences of the festival with their fans.
For Verizon Wireless' series, Journey to ESSENCE Festival, Elle Varner, Estelle, Tank and Marsha Ambrosius discuss some of their favorite Essence Festival moments over the years, what to expect for their sets, and more.
Superstage performer Elle Varner explained how music has always been a driving force in her life.
"My house is full of music and life and I was just at the center of this force of music and entertainment," she said.
She also hinted what she plans to do for her performance on Sunday night. "I am bringing to Essence classic Elle Varner with some new pizzaz and some new fire and excitement." she said.
